Very nicely made great fit, and finish. Like the Merlin square that I also bought, I liked the ability to lay the tools flat however, the trade-off for that is that the thumb screw is facing away from you or down toward the table. Additionally, I was marking some 18 mm ply, and it was difficult to tighten the wheel because It protrudes 17 mm from the ruler, so almost touching the table. In the case of the Merlin Square, I also purchased, it protrudes 20 mm so it cannot lay flat on the work if it’s in the middle of a table. With both tools, it’s not an issue if it’s at the side of your work table, but that’s not always an option.

Depending on how a person uses these tools, the ability to lay it flat might outweigh any other concerns. For my typical use, it would be helpful to have a reference on both sides of the ruler such that I could choose to have the knob facing me. Perhaps a flip out stop like on the square or perhaps an alternate stop that would give you a reference opposite the thumb screw or even to the side of the sun, screw and retain the lay flat function. I would purchase such an additional accessory.

great tool

This was a Christmas present for my husband, but according to him he loves it! It works and measures great and does what it was advertised to do. He loves the ease and accuracy of use. Would definitely buy again.
My only disappointment was that it had to come from China and it was not made clear at the time of ordering that it would not arrive by Christmas.
